Pasta Carbonara

As promised, here is the recipe for the pasta carbonara, happy cooking!

Pasta carbonara: serves 2-3


300 grams fettucine/penne/fusilli
2 egg yolks
1/2-3/4 cup double cream
1/2 cup peas 
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
salt and pepper

1. Mix together egg yolks, cream and parmesan. Season to taste.
2. Cook pasta until el dente. In the last 3 minutes, add peas to cook. Drain.
3. Quickly add pasta to the cream mixture and mix thoroughly.
4. Serve immediately. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and extra pepper. Bon appetitto!

Note: this is the vegetarian version. You can add beef bacon by roughly chopping 4-6 slices of bacon and rendering the fat until crisp, drain on paper towel and add it to the cream mixture.
